« Painting is for me a kind of meditation, a coming to terms in form and color, working off visual impressions, a reflection of my being in the world. »
Martina Hartusch is an experienced Austrian painter whose abstract paintings stem from a fascination with surrealism. Inspired by an exhibition of Gerhard Richter, Hartusch experiments with mixed media on canvas, creating complex abstract landscapes and planetary surfaces with sand, putty masses, paper, and other materials. Her work has been featured in prizes, solo and group shows throughout Austria and the US.
