Ionian Sky captures the serene beauty of sunrise – that quiet moment when the world transitions from darkness to light. Inspired by my autumn and winter mornings in Munich, as well as the sunrises in my native Greece, this abstract landscape blends memory and the present into a single visual experience.
Emerald green forms the foundation of the painting and represents tranquility, balance, and depth—an allusion to the Ionian Sea at dawn. Shimmering… accents of orange-yellow and gold bring warmth and vibrancy to the image and symbolize the light breaking through on the horizon.
