About this artwork
The artist's eye catches the view of the horizon on a winter day. It is an inner vision captured as from an imaginary window that focuses on the intimacy of a thought. The passing of time, in a cold season, pushes the artist to imagine stopping a memory beyond the horizon line. Even the technique used is congenial to the artist to create this double vision: denser and more material in the acrylic outside the composition where even the appearance… of a bare branch gives a feeling of melancholy suspension; of acrylic stretched out in the vision of the central square, where the absence of color and the clear and marked outlines push us to focus on a metaphysical landscape. The artist lived for several years in a place far from inhabited centers, where the close contact with nature, marked by its natural cycles, gave her the opportunity to be inspired by the changes in life and to dialogue with them.
« My Art is 'where I know the way', it is the place where I feel free to communicate and I am always myself. »
Maryda Geraci is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States. She describes her artistic expression as the communication of short poetic stories, expressed through natural objects. Geraci's creative language is composed of signs and colors that are a reflection of herself, her sensitivity, what is happening around her, and the world she inhabits. She creates using acrylics and charcoal on canvas.
