About this artwork
This canvas is part of an abstract series that draws inspiration from nature and its surfaces. The natural elements are elaborated as a personal journey in search of non-places to explore. In this subject, Maryda Geraci's artistic language leads to the search for perceptions of reality translated into signs and color. The technique used in this work is a mix of charcoal and acrylic paint. The latter is spread over the green and blue canvas with almost… watercolor glazes and transparencies, while charcoal-shaded veins branch out in monochrome black and white, creating a sharp contrast with the hues of the colored spaces.
« My Art is 'where I know the way', it is the place where I feel free to communicate and I am always myself. »
Maryda Geraci is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States. She describes her artistic expression as the communication of short poetic stories, expressed through natural objects. Geraci's creative language is composed of signs and colors that are a reflection of herself, her sensitivity, what is happening around her, and the world she inhabits. She creates using acrylics and charcoal on canvas.
