About this artwork
This small work is an acrylic painting on hahnemühle paper. It was conceived by the artist as part of a quadriptych in which he explores his personal creative language through the observation of nature. The artist's gaze focuses on the study of the natural surface of floral petals which are translated as a cheerful and lively composition with a bright pink colour. Observing the pictorial subject, one can see that the artist has almost transformed… the vision of the petals into something else: the shape of the petals like the shape of the tongues. The intensely colored plates which naturally attract pollinating animals suggest the image of the human organ fundamental for the articulation of language.
« My Art is 'where I know the way', it is the place where I feel free to communicate and I am always myself. »
Maryda Geraci is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States. She describes her artistic expression as the communication of short poetic stories, expressed through natural objects. Geraci's creative language is composed of signs and colors that are a reflection of herself, her sensitivity, what is happening around her, and the world she inhabits. She creates using acrylics and charcoal on canvas.
