About this artwork
Cette œuvre rend le protagoniste irréaliste en faisant symboliquement d'elle une sirène. Se reposer sur un balcon avec des feuilles de palmier se balançant dans la brise est une critique du monde urbain occupé, en proie aux conflits et menaçant. Le rouge des palmiers et des fruits représente le sud, tandis que le bleu de la mer et du ciel représente le monde réel. La composition plate est mon moyen de dessin.

Resting on a balcony with palm fronds swaying in the breeze is a critique of the busy, conflict-ridden, and threatening urban world. The red of the palms and fruit represents the south, while the blue of the sea and sky represents the real world. The flat composition is my drawing method.

Masao Kanno (Painter, Visual Artist): I was autistic from a young age, which made social interactions difficult, and I was looking for a way to express myself. Inspired by the anti-academic painting of early 20th-century Europe, I thought I might be able to do the same, which became my primary motivation. At the time, I mainly produced pop art, but in recent years, I've been using primary colors a lot and creating many Fauvist-style works. My main concern now is that I only find the motivation to create when I get away from my daily routine and travel.
