About this artwork
In this work I wanted to express a state of mind in which the protagonist is experiencing the connection between the material aspect and the divine aspect.
The material part, in which we are all used to moving, is represented by the physicality of the boy's body.
The divine part, which is emerging overwhelmingly, is seen in the aura of the head, in the open third eye and the prana coming out of the hands.
I wanted to express the movement with… the plastic pose of the boy's body who right now is living this mystical experience even with abstract elements.
Symbolically I represented rocks that are crumbling, they represent the materiality of the boy who is crumbling at the connection with higher planes of existence.
I chose red as a background as for me red is one of the spiritual colors.

« The work of art is a tool to contact our divine side. »
Massimo Angotti is an artist based in Italy whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. He believes that all of us came into this world with a spiritual purpose, which many have forgotten. Consequently, Angotti creates to remind himself and others of their divine purpose, which is why he explores themes that "speak to people's souls". His abstract and figurative compositions are created using acrylics and oils on canvas.
