About this artwork
The painting "Miserere" by Massimo Rubbi is an intense and touching work that explores the theme of suffering and compassion.
Title and meaning
The title "Miserere" refers to the prayer of supplication and request for mercy, often present in religious tradition. The painting seems to want to express a sense of pain and sadness in the face of the human condition, but also a deep empathy and desire for comfort.
Description
The work depicts… a human figure, probably a woman, with her face bowed and her eyes closed. Her body is wrapped in a fabric reminiscent of a shroud, suggesting a sense of vulnerability and fragility. The figure is immersed in an undefined space, with dark colors and shades that create an atmosphere of mystery and introspection.
