About this artwork
The picture was taken from a sketch in the Ortler group. For the artist it expresses the constant change of this landscape, the experience of fragility and constant movement, which one does not perceive as a visitor to this landscape on safe paths and in the sight of the presented idyll.

« I paint landscapes that are less concerned with naturalistic reproduction as they are with capturing rhythms, the empty spaces in the landscape. »
It was his discovery of a surrealist exhibition in Munich at age 16 that set Oppermann on an artistic path. Inspired by mountains since childhood, he partners ‘en plein air’ painting with studio work to create unique representations of natural landscapes and people in motion.
