About this artwork
In this work I explored the interplay between realism and impressionism using gouache on paper. The dynamics of the brush strokes capture the wildness of nature, while the earth colors also have a calming effect. This image is intended to take the viewer on a sensual journey between the raw and the dreamy, bringing a sense of stability and calm to any room.

« I paint landscapes that are less concerned with naturalistic reproduction as they are with capturing rhythms, the empty spaces in the landscape. »
It was his discovery of a surrealist exhibition in Munich at age 16 that set Oppermann on an artistic path. Inspired by mountains since childhood, he partners ‘en plein air’ painting with studio work to create unique representations of natural landscapes and people in motion.
