About this artwork
In this oil painting I combine realism, surrealism and impressionism to create a dreamlike landscape. The flowing transitions and soft color nuances reflect my deepest emotions and thoughts. I play with the effects of light and shadow to create a place of peace and reflection. This work is intended to take the viewer into a world of fantasy and reflection and bring the energy of a fulfilled, quiet moment into the home.

« I paint landscapes that are less concerned with naturalistic reproduction as they are with capturing rhythms, the empty spaces in the landscape. »
It was his discovery of a surrealist exhibition in Munich at age 16 that set Oppermann on an artistic path. Inspired by mountains since childhood, he partners ‘en plein air’ painting with studio work to create unique representations of natural landscapes and people in motion.
