In this work I combine minimalist clarity with expressive power. The bright colors create a dynamic tension, while the geometric shapes are reduced to the essentials. My passion for strong contrasts and the energy that comes from this composition should enliven every room. I want viewers to feel an emotional connection while enjoying the purity of the form.

Matthias Riecker
Germany
« In art, there are hardly any rules regarding design or content. I enjoy this informal freedom very much and use it for my creative work. »
Matthias Riecker is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Switzerland. Describing his artistic process as a "free fall of the imagination", his abstract and expressive works are centered around "area and movement". Riecker has coined the term "complimentary painting" in which surfaces complement, cover, reinforce, condense, lighten, harmonize, complicate, interact and communicate with each other.
