About this artwork
Inspiration for my work comes from many walks along flowerfields (tulips), in heathlands, polders and woods in The Netherlands and rugged mountainous regions like Jotunheimen in Norway and the Alps.
The paintings are precisely translations of feelings, observations and experiences during the walks: the grandeur of nature, immateriality, emptiness, colours or spatiality, colors of flowers/trees/nature, mist, reflections of light in water, the wind,… waves, the light (morning, day, evening).
I try to find the right balance between abstraction and figuration.
Education:
Academy of Arts Sint Joost Breda The Netherlands. Diploma of Higher Education 1987. I graduated cum laude.
Museums:
I exhibited in the Stedelijk Museum Breda Netherlands (2018 and 2019) and the Jan Cunen Museum Oss Netherlands.
