About this artwork
Although the work is from 2007, it has lost none of its relevance. The picture shows the fence on the border with Mexico. You can see the legacy of a frontier worker. As in many other works by the artist, the center of the picture is characterized by a blank space. The title of the work refers to the eponymous title of a novel by the American writer Cormac McCarthy.

« As a painter and journalist, I live a schizophrenic existence: two worlds that do not seem to have much in common. In my work, I try to connect them both. »
Max Beyme is a gifted German painter whose works have been nationally exhibited since the 1990s. Valuing the timeless meaning of a painting in contrast with the demand for quick, temporary information in his work as a TV journalist, he creates engrossing figurative and abstract pieces marked by masterful precision and visceral storytelling.
