Max Boissard is an exciting French painter and draftsman with national exposure, whose work is organized around drawing and painting. He uses figuration as a pretext to represent a more abstract version of that which is visible, drawing influence from baroque art in doing so. Boissard primarily employs ink and watercolors, which bring a transparency and sensibility to his paintings, achieving an overall balance of empty and full, fragile and strong.
