The series Sirocco registered movement, exaggerating the vibrancy in colour choices, she uses as a metaphor the Sirocco wind blowing from Africa, bringing grains of sand from Sahara to Europe, misplacing them with that powerful air movement, bringing changes, new ideas, pushing us to find ways to understand and communicate with each other.

Maya Foltyn is a painter, photographer, and draftsman based in Canada whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Austria, New Zealand, Montenegro, Armenia, and Norway. Her abstract compositions are interpretations of concepts through series. Many of Foltyn's pieces are based on the line and properties of a drawing. She creates using acrylics, sand, and resin on canvas or wood.
