About this artwork
Portrait of Nina Simone created using a multi-layered stencil technique with spray paint on a wooden canvas. It belongs to the Silhouettes of Resistance Series—portraits of women whose audacity redefined culture and society. Nina Simone was a musician, activist, and a voice for the voiceless. Her gaze says it all: resistance, dignity, freedom. A work about someone who never stopped fighting.
An urban artist based in Zaragoza, Spain, specializing in hyperrealistic portraits using a multi-layered spray-paint stencil technique. His practice stems from direct intervention in public spaces—without festivals or intermediaries. Each piece is constructed from 10 to 15 hand-cut layers, a process that takes between three and seven months per portrait.
Her work has evolved into series of social commentary: Inhabited Solitudes explores the institutional abandonment of the elderly; the Homeless Series restores dignity to those whom the city looks upon without seeing; Silhouettes of Resistance pays homage to women who redefined world culture. Faces that history sought to erase but that urban art returns to the collective gaze.
Recognized by the University of Zaragoza and three-time finalist in the Stencil Art Prize of Australia
