About this artwork
It is my appreciation of Chinese culture. I use the line drawing of Chinese painting with modern technique to depict the cultural symbols of lotus and furniture. the characters are the time in the Chinese calendar when lotuses bloom to emphasize the theme. By adding cultural elements combining the colors on a gold base with black and red. This creates an atmosphere that is both elegantly modern and rich in Far Eastern flair, bridging the gap between… classic and modern, East and West. Therefore, the works in this series are suitable in rooms of any style and will create unexpected surprises when they come into contact with different styles. The picture is in two parts, each 100x50cm.
Meizi Wang combines oil, acrylic paints and ink in her art and thus explores her Chinese-European identity. She oscillates between realism and abstraction, merges Eastern and Western painting and deeply reflects her self-image through lines and colors. Her works radiate a search for truth and harmony while touchingly conveying personal and cultural epiphanies.
