About this artwork
This work, which conveys a melancholic atmosphere, is rare in my oeuvre, but it is among my favorites. I used deep ochre, gray-brown, and various shades of white to create a desolate place and a lonely mood. I deliberately preserved the traces of the color gradient, as they underscore the overall atmosphere. This somber and melancholic mood also possesses a certain beauty; it will touch many people.
