About this artwork
Sloane is a Celtic name meaning "warrior". Here she is a young woman symbol of today's youth, strong and combative. Sloane is a female portrait sublimated by its frame painted in copper gilding and matte black.
The entire work is constructed as an installation: The frame of the canvas is fixed to a wooden board painted matt black which is itself fixed to the American box. This modus operandi brings depth and character to the production. It magnifies… the background work and its lightness, but also the realization of the portrait and its multiple coppery black contrasts enhanced with a touch of light blue.
Sloane is a tribute to women, to youth and to their strength and combativeness.
