« Art for me is a perception of life and I believe that it is possible to influence the world through the language of art provided there is an honest connection between the head and the heart. That's what I'm working on. »
Merav Sudaey is an emerging artist whose work has already gained international exposure. Her art is made using mixed media, such as oil and acrylic on canvas, as well as traditional techniques like sewing, embroidery, or imitation of various handicrafts. Sudaey's works and the images they depict are drawn from the artist's observations of her social and cultural environment, and often address issues pertaining to current affairs such as war, terror, and bereavement. The sharp contrast generated between the grave content and its mode of depiction raises questions about the portrayed reality, lending it new interpretations.
