About this artwork
This piece belongs to a series where I explore not just the landscape, but the landscape of feeling — spontaneity, solitude, joy, and that warmth of sunlight that lingers even in stillness. My Mediterranean and Caribbean experiences flow into the palette and gestures. Each brushstroke is like a wave: it arrives, it leaves, it leaves a trace.
I hope the viewer feels not only a breath of marine tranquility, but something instinctively familiar — a… window toward one's own inner shore
Mercè Domènech Ferret, born in Barcelona, is an interior architect turned painter, shaped by her extended stay and experiences in Cuba.
Her work is deeply influenced by the luminous landscapes she has inhabited — the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and currently the French Provence — as well as the emotional landscapes that move within her.
Her paintings, infused with Mediterranean-Caribbean warmth and vitality, radiate peace, joyful clarity, and soulful freshness.
Her work unfolds in two main directions: on one hand, abstract marine compositions that evoke the rhythm and luminosity of the sea; on the other, freer abstractions where spontaneity and inner landscapes take center stage.
