About this artwork
Vinyls recovered from the landfill over a period of about 5 months, cut and glued in strips of about 15 cm then aligned in a very slightly decreasing manner.
The whole thing is held together by the resin poured into a formwork.
Around 150 vinyls, 6 months of work and 300 hours.

Meryl uses epoxy resin, plywood, and reclaimed materials, fueled by a self-taught education after a stint in art history. His technique is rooted in the assembly, accumulation, and transformation of ordinary objects from landfills, with a strong presence of relief and standardization, inscribing his landscapes in a revisited tradition. Through his works, he creates a feeling of metaphysical emptiness, prompting reflection on the technological dehumanization of our time.
