« A window ajar on a universe of disturbing strangeness. »
Michaël Brack’s works evoke strange atmospheres and places, winding passages, long corridors, and stairs. The French painter and draftsman also delves into themes of emptiness and solitude in his compositions. Brack often takes pictures in the street or in other locales as a starting point, then lets himself be guided by the process of finding a strong image with as few elements as possible. He creates using oils, inks, and charcoal.
