About this artwork
This is one of several paintings I worked on during trips to Mediterranean countries, Greece in this case. I tried to capture the sparkling nature of the light reflected on the surface of the water, to emphasize the interactions of colour and transparency on the scene and show the contrasts between sea and shore, sunlight and shadow. The subject is a small rowing boat, a vessel suggests to me small adventures and relaxing days spent poking around…
in coves, fishing or swimming or just enjoying the beautiful weather, all things I love doing when I'm in the Mediterranean.
