About this artwork
In this piece, I've woven emotions into the rich oils, capturing the stark geometry of urban decay. It's a tribute to resilience amidst abandonment, inviting contemplation. The vivid contrasts and textures will energize any space, embodying a powerful spirit of perseverance and history's indelible mark.

« I’m interested in traces of humanity rather than humans - environments that show layers of human experience, change, decay, entanglement... »
Growing up in 1960s USSR meant Michael Goro quickly learned how to live with contradictions. Starting out painting government propaganda, he began his pursuit of a freer artistic path as soon as restrictions eased. Now gaining inspiration from his current home - Chicago, Goro uses his eye for architecture and an anthropological spirit to achieve interesting, carefully choreographed visual storytelling.
