« I focus on the familiar and the everyday. The work does not take a particular viewpoint but has a sense of pieces and objects considered and explored. »
Michael Hales is an artist based in Ireland whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. Inspired by satellite imagery, photography, and personal experience, his works endeavor to explain an aggregated view of his world. Hales's striking abstractions are most often created using a combination of many layers of wax, resin, and oils on birch plywood.
