Michael Hayden This is one of a series of artworks created for The Loft at Liz's annual color show (Black 2018) in Los Angeles. Several of the artworks in this series have found objects salvaged from Hurricane Katrina (New Orleans) One of the found objects was burned. This painting also incorporates… Mica chips in the black colorfield creating a sparkling effect to the artwork. My objective with the black series was to take a serious subject and give it an uplifting feeling.

Michael Hayden is an established artist from the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally. Inspired by the beauty of his California home and the ocean, Hayden practices encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, in which he heats beeswax and adds colored pigments to it to create lush and textured abstract artworks.
