In 2023 I started the Fragments series in response to my disappointment with the messy abstract expressionist paintings I was making at the time. I wanted to switch gears and focus on a more collage approach. Instead of “performing” with brushes and paint I decided I wanted to “build” the artworks out of my feelings of fragmented memories & sensations. This process… allows me to explore different materials, textures, and compositional ideas with ease. These abstract works usually have a more industrial feel with their textures and geometric compositions, but they also allow me to act on my more “decorative” impulses.
