With the “Ascension” series I wanted to develop a way of working that
allows for experimental collage within a simple geometric framework.
I enjoy tempering the anxiety of decision making by utilizing
simple parameters in composition, texture & color.
The building block motif for me isn’t merely about nostalgia for childhood
play or 20th century modernist & neo-classical… forms, its also a
structure that allows me to contemplate metaphors for the self, personal
experience, the value of expression & the creative ego.
