About this artwork
Michael Moesslang's art deals with why people feel, think and act the way they do. And they don't always do it for their own good. In this picture (first work in a small series) he deals with addiction. When people around you are affected by medication abuse, alcohol or drug use, you are powerless. Even if they are family members or close friends. The addict knows it is harming him and he continues anyway. And it keeps getting worse.
The young man… looks arrogantly and contemptuously at the viewer over his cold shoulder. Tablets and pills swirl around him, as do thoughts, emotions and fantasies that have become colors, surfaces and brushstrokes.
Emotion, addiction, arrogance, dependency, psyche, psychology, human, man, portrait, blue, brown, portrait format
