About this artwork
The painting surface consists of a paper bag (from the shop) that has been primed to create an interesting texture and depth. The primer ensures that the colors adhere better and appear more vibrant. The wet adhesive tape from the mounting can be seen around the format. The combination of acrylic paints and pens makes it possible to use different techniques and styles, which makes the result even more unique. It is always exciting to see how different… materials on the surface bring the motif to life. Interesting and aesthetic. A real eye-catcher.
The format is approx. 37 x 28cm.
Michael Rehr-Hoffmann, born in 1957, is a German artist who studied communication design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts. For more than 30 years, he worked as a graphic designer in various fields of advertising and public relations. After his professional career, he retired and began painting again in 2016. A main theme of his works is the still life, in which each object has a meaning and wants to tell the viewer something. But people, both individually and in groups, also play a central role in his art.
