About this artwork
Dried fruit as a symbol of transience. Always very appealing. The image was painted with acrylics on the back of a sturdy, brown paper bag (packing paper), which was attached to the bag along the edges with gummed tape. All the small splashes and smudges are intentionally part of the artwork, as they are an integral part of the artistic expression and make the piece a unique work of art. Interesting and aesthetically pleasing. A real eye-catcher.

Michael Rehr-Hoffmann, born in 1957, is a German artist who studied communication design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts. For more than 30 years, he worked as a graphic designer in various fields of advertising and public relations. After his professional career, he retired and began painting again in 2016. A main theme of his works is the still life, in which each object has a meaning and wants to tell the viewer something. But people, both individually and in groups, also play a central role in his art.
