About this artwork
Again and again the artist resorts to elementary geometrical phenomena to create his sculptural works. Above all, the Möbius loop repeatedly serves as a basis. It is a twisting band that has only one side, ie when you move your finger you can get to any point without having to jump over the edge. Artists like Max Bill have also used this tape as the basis for sculptural work.
Here the artist designed a piece of oak using this principle. It's not… just a ribbon, but a small sculpture with a three-dimensional haptic volume. He gave the surface a carved structure with a Japanese sculpting iron. Form and substance form a three-dimensional whole. The wood is waxed and the sculpture is mounted on a stone block 5 cm high.
