About this artwork
It was a piece of bent birch trunk that the artist used as the basis for this sculpture. The slant of the play became the theme. The round trunk was made almost like a curved beam with a rectangular cross-section. A Japanese handsaw was used. A rectangular opening has been carved into the center of the sculpture. From the concave side there is a flowing structure, on the convex side the opening almost looks like a window. The wood was already attacked…
by fungi, but still solid. This gives the materiality of the sculpture a special expression in the otherwise simple design. The wood is waxed and the sculpture is mounted on a steel plate. She has been present at various exhibitions.
