About this artwork
The artist did a lot of astronomy. It is part of his interest in nature and its phenomena. He knows that Venus has no moon. But what does the title stand for? More about this below. The small sculpture is made of birch wood. Like some of his other sculptures, its shape follows the infinite Moebius loop. So it has a surface on which you can get to every point without having to jump over an edge. The form is ultimately an expression of a cosmic idea…
of infinity, which has been brought into a sensual, graceful form here. In an old natural philosophy, the birch was assigned to Venus in its delicacy and beauty. The sculpture is really too small for a whole planet. This is how a moon of Venus was created with her.
