Georgia Yellow, 2019 Acrylic and 1 of 1 Silkscreen print on canvas 38.50h x 49.50w cm. Stretched Canvas on wooden stretcher bars
Referencing Andy Warhol and the Marlboro Cowboy, my original photograph taken in New York on the Lower East Side. I wanted to create an iconic series of silkscreens to embody what Warhol might have done today.

« Someone once wrote about me in South Korea, saying my work was like, 'if Basquiat and Keith Haring had a son and he was drawing with his left hand'. »
Michael Stiegler is a painter, photographer, and draftsman based in Australia whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. Inspired by living in New York City and the unique characters he observed on a daily basis, he also draws upon high-end fashion magazines, but not for the reasons one might expect. Stiegler wonders if the glittering and beauty people featured in the media are truly happy and his collage compositions reflect the monsters that may lie within.
