About this artwork
The hermaphrodite is an essential figure, with primitive forms, a timeless image that appears as if placed on a lunar landscape. Cold, monotonous colors, spread on flat surfaces without depth, outline an angular body. Unarmed limbs end with compact triangles that do not mark the fingers, the face is oval and expressionless, the two sexes are shown without any fuss.

Michela Cosimi is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany. Expressionism is the main theory behind her work. Individualized expressionism gives ample space for Cosimi's imagination. She employs acrylics and oils on canvas in her vibrant compositions. In addition, she also creates digital pieces directly with her fingers on an IPad, as if it were a palette.
