About this artwork
In this piece, I've embraced raw emotion, melding abstract forms with a minimalist touch. Each stroke is deliberate yet free, capturing a feeling of reconstruction—the interplay of resilience and vulnerability. It's an artwork that resonates with depth and simplicity, offering a soothing, contemplative energy to any space it inhabits.
« I enjoy combining organic with architectural shapes; thereby creating a tension in my compositions—see this as the ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ in my work. »
Michela Sorrentino is an established Canadian artist with international exposure.Sorrentino's paintings juxtapose bold designs and unusual color combinations with dramatic marks and unique symbols. Within each of Sorrentino’s works are layer upon layer of marks, which she often combines with larger organic or architectural shapes as well as graffiti inspired typography. The abstract images that form her art are symbols for what interests the artist in her every-day life. These are personal images for Sorrentino and are true reflections of her spontaneous responses to the visual world around her.
