About this artwork
Moai in the Rapa-Nui language means "beautiful," and I wanted to create a play of contrasts between the image and the title because the work draws on both street art and art brut. It's a self-portrait in projection: I'm 15 now, but I often wonder what I'll be like as an adult.
And I imagined myself stable and gigantic, like the statues of Easter Island, where you don't know where they begin and where they end.
I imagined myself colorful, with lively,… attentive eyes, and I brought all my imagination to life on a tablet. Buying this work is an investment because it already transports you into the future.
