In this piece, I've blended oil and sand to create a textured dance between form and abstraction. Geometric lines intersect with symbolic elements, casting a narrative of resilience and progression across a minimalistic canvas.
"Independent" speaks to the strength and resilience of women who carve their own paths. It reflects the balance between structure and fluidity, stability and movement—echoing the determination to push forward despite limitations.… The composition suggests progress and defiance, a quiet yet unwavering assertion of autonomy. Just as art transcends boundaries, so do the voices of women, shaping their own narratives with courage and conviction.

Michele Krauss is a Chilean-American award-winning artist based in Chile and the United States. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally in Chile, the United States, Japan, Australia, France, and Italy. Her works are personal statements that explore reflections on inner transformations shaped by the outer world, conveyed through layers of subtle symbolism.
