About this artwork
"While Listening to Birds" This modern abstract blends organic forms with expressive, gestural brushstrokes, suggesting both movement and stillness. Pale umber shapes interlace with soft grays, beiges, blacks, and whites. Its layered composition feels at once earthy and ethereal. Rhythmic energy emits a soothing, uplifting presence—a window to nature. Inspired by a long walk in early spring with birds in full voice, I hope this work reminds you to… pause, breathe, and simply listen. Please see additional photos for details.
Full size is 45H x 72W inches, leaving ample canvas (2.5 inches on each of 4 sides) to stretch on deep stretcher bars to its 40H x 67W x 1.5D image as shown. It is signed on back and ships in a tube. This is especially safe for oversized works. Rolled canvas can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer.
« I'm curious about how nature inspires awe, how we feel it deep in our bones, how to express that relationship, and what we can learn from it. My energetic, investment-quality paintings bring balance and harmony from the natural world to your interior space. »
