It is one of the early works in my long-standing series using Rakusui paper. Red acrylic paint is absorbed into the delicate fibers of the paper, while red and orange oil pastels are finely shaved and carefully embedded into the surface through an intricate and meticulous process.… This layered technique creates a rich depth of color, texture, and luminosity.
Emerging from the black, the red conveys both strength and intensity, while holding traces of emotion and memory. Between what remains concealed and what gradually comes into view, the work embodies a quiet yet powerful energy—resonating with the sense of stillness and subtle tension found in Japanese aesthetics.
