« I am an artist, a maker, and a wanderer. I cherish absurdity in Humanness, serendipity and failure. I wish I were a gentle superhero. »
Prize winning Japanese American artist Mika Aono is inspired to find the meaning in the meaningless. Her artworks express her personal experiences, the essence of what makes one human, one's eccentricities and morality. Utilizing a range of mediums and materials each of Mika's pieces is intricately detailed and expressive. A methodology of repetition and layering which captures the delicacy of her subjects.
