About this artwork
In Between Threads, I explore the fragile space between memory and presence. I use woven wool and a modular wooden structure to create a work where thread becomes more than a textile material—it becomes a way of drawing through space.
Fragments of handwritten calligraphy appear beneath the woven surfaces, not to preserve language, but to suggest what remains after words begin to fade. Some woven sections are held in tension while others bend or… soften, reflecting how memory is constantly reshaped rather than permanently fixed.
As the threads extend beyond the woven forms, they connect empty space as actively as the material itself. Through changing relationships between light, shadow and transparency, I invite viewers to experience memory as something that is never static, but continually woven through absence, gesture and human experience.
