« Even though I can be quite disciplined with my work and life in general, I am very relaxed when it comes to my creation - allowing myself to be like this during painting and not chasing perfectionism, is the best way for enjoying the process and having the best results. »
Portuguese painter Mirjam Siim has exhibited work in Estonia, Russia, Portugal, and the UK. She enjoys working in watercolor, because it is the medium that allows the most fluidity. Allowing for improvisation and intuition in her artistic process, Siim's works arrive naturally. She is often inspired by moments from her own life - conversations had, books read, or memories shared. Centering around female subjects, Siim's paintings are both playful and haunting, each suggesting a clear story and conveying a warmth of emotion.
