About this artwork
This artwork, opposite to the series title, is about how sometimes time seems to pass too quickly. Even though there are many things to "simplify" our lives these days, it still seems that we are occupied with different chores from the moment we wake up till the moment we go to sleep. Homework, family and work can form a routine that can make us feel that the week passes by with the blink of an eye. I guess the best way to "make use of it", is to…
make it as enjoyable as possible and take some days off to make something different from ordinary every now and again.

Portuguese painter Mirjam Siim has exhibited work in Estonia, Russia, Portugal, and the UK. She enjoys working in watercolor, because it is the medium that allows the most fluidity. Allowing for improvisation and intuition in her artistic process, Siim's works arrive naturally. She is often inspired by moments from her own life - conversations had, books read, or memories shared. Centering around female subjects, Siim's paintings are both playful and haunting, each suggesting a clear story and conveying a warmth of emotion.
