About this artwork
This work was made for all the broken lives of the young. A broken boy who represents the sadness and destruction of his home, it could be anywhere or everywhere, but for me, he is the " Broken Boy of Beirut ". I have decorated it to reflect light, to try and give a presence of light on the outside, but the eyes are gone and only darkness remains. This work is not in a glass dome, it is free standing, mounted on a granite base. This is a mixed media…

He discovered a passion for art as a young boy, when he would take off-cuts of wood from his grandfather—a coal miner—and turn them into fruits of his imagination.
