About this artwork
It is inspired by the statue of the Goddess Iris in the British Museum. She is the Goddess of the rainbow and reflects the vibrant multicultural city of London, a city of tolerance and diversity, a modern Babylon. The marks across the print come directly from photographs of the damaged outside walls of the V&A museum in London when it was bombed in the second world war. A dark time for London, but the city came through it stronger and more together.…

The prints are limited edition giclée prints, produced exclusively at Printspace in Shoreditch, East London. Printed on German etching paper, they are then hand finished with gold leaf, diamond dust and acrylic paint.

MISTER is the pseudonym of an award-winning artist based in the United Kingdom who has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Portugal and Spain. His artistic inspiration stems from the history of art, storytelling, images of strong female characters, and exploring the boundaries of gender and cultural identity. MISTER's vibrant compositions are a collaboration between varying media and techniques and are printed on paper, hand finished acrylic paint and embellished with gold leaf and diamond dust.
