About this artwork
This work is a whimsical piece showing life just before the pandemic. Yes, we had time to play cards and not think about what was unbeknown to us at the time. Having attended public schools in New York City, I worked
toward a BA and MA in Art at Hunter College of the City of New
York, where I was inspired by the work of Abstract
Expressionists/Minimalists, Ralph Humphrey, Robert Huot, Robert
Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, Adolf Gotlieb and Tony… Smith.
I eventually developed my own style where the paint is distributed very purposely, bringing a
vigor and expressiveness to each of my canvases. Powerfully
intense, the forms, lines, shapes and colors are unexpected,
surprising, sexy, fun and sometimes aggressive. I look for a
spiritual insights to provide me with normality and a proper
balance in life, adding that I'm not sure I'll
ever find it.
I explore human sensuality and the relationship between men,
women and the environment.
